Much better player than jenkinson but I do have my doubts as to wether you can keep him fit

Re: Glen Johnson

He will be 31 at the start of next season and I'd quite happily take him and Jenkinson if possible. I'd probably play both of them on the right in some away games. With young Hendry backing up Cresswell on the left and Reid & Tomkins supported by Collins , Henry , Burke and Oxford we will be pretty well covered.

Re: Glen Johnson

Chelsea offered good money for him at the time.... as a young kid, he played really well in the run in of that relegation season...no tantrums or agents like lampard, defoe etc...

Thought Johnson had a good game today and seems to be Liverpool's first choice right back again.
Would rather sign Jenkinson permanently or Trippier from Burnley due to their age but if we can't get either of them then Glen Johnson is a pretty good right back to bring in.

Re: Glen Johnson

He is as good as Jenkinson and costing us nothing in transfer fee - freeing that cash up for another good signing.
He's better going forward than defensively, the notion that he isn't good enough is absolutely hilarious, he's just started for Liverpool against Chelsea.

I was under the impression that Johnson never wanted to leave and was devastated they we had to sell him. Nothing like the way Defoe left at all

The way I remember it, was that he left under no cloud at all and Chelsea paid the entire amount up front which at the time helped us considering our financial position.

I don't remember any controversy about the way he left for Chelsea.
As for this 'BFS signings' nonsense, there's always a benefit to getting service out of an experienced player as long as they're cheap enough and you don't overdo the amount of them. Although BFS might claim he invented the practice, we've had plenty of wonderful players join in the eve of their careers - Di Canio for a start.

Re: Glen Johnson

He's a very good player, there's no doubt about that imo. The worry is the wages and getting stuck with an older player on a long contract, that's all. A manageable wage on a two-year contract - that would be a great result for us.
